| Moldoveanu Peak (2,544 m / 8,349 ft) situated in Fagaras Massif is the highest peak in Transylvania Mountains. In Romania there are more than 20 peaks above 2500 m and this is your opportunity to reach three of them. All three in just one week. Fagaras, Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Massifs are the three most different destinations we are offering you, thinking about the views, the rock types, and all these in just one week-time.
Programme:
Note: The itinerary for every day is subject to minor changes upon weather conditions.
1st day:
Arrival at Otopeni Airport, Bucharest. Transfer to Balea Lake, beautifully laid
in the Fagaras Mountain.
Accommodation: Balea chalet.
2nd & 3rd day - Fagaras Mountain: Trekking into Fagaras Mountain. We follow the ridge trail up to Podragu Chalet where, after 6 to 7 hours walk we stop overnight. Sleeping bag is suggested. Next day back to ridge trail to reach the highest peak in Romania: Moldoveanu Peak (Alt. 2544m). We continue the trail, descending to Simbata Chalet where we stop after up to 8 - 9 hours walk. Overnight stay at Simbata Chalet. During these two days we step into the land of red dear and marmots and we have the chance to see beautiful landscapes on both sides of the mountains: Transylvania at north and Walachia at south.
4th day - Romanian Village: In the morning we climb down the mountain for about 2 hours to the main road where from we use the bus for transfer. Short stop at Simbata Monastery and Fagaras town. In the afternoon we discover old Romanian mountain village of Pestera and Magura and exploring the Bat's Cave. You get the chance to see and talk with Romanian peasants who spent all their life in this unspoilt piece of land.

5th day: - Piatra Craiului National Park Step into the spectacular Piatra Craiului National Park climbing up to the crest through "La Lanturi" passage, a very difficult and steep trail. After a few hours trekking on a narrow ridge, with precipices on both sides, we reach La Om Peak. At every break we are enjoying the sounds of birds, and the fresh and ozonic tonic air. We start the climbing down on the other side of the mountain to Curmatura Chalet and then through Prapastiile Zarnestilor (canyon) down to village of Zarnesti.

6th day - Optional Day: Visit to Dracula's Castle. Trip to the old town of Brasov and visit to The Black Church, The First Romanian School and The Weavers Tower. Getting in the old town of Brasov, you are surrounded by very old houses, narrow streets, and friendly people. Romanian specialties for dinner at a restaurant in Brasov. Wildlife watching: Bears are living together with men in a neighborhood in Brasov. They are fed and they play with men.

7th day - Bucegi Massif: Discover the quiet side of Bucegi Massif, starting from Bran Castle, well known as Dracula's Castle, up to Omul Peak in Bucegi Massif. A different perspective of the mountain, crossing the massif from west to east, we will reach Prahova Valley on the other side of the mountain.

8th day: Bus to Bucharest including city tour and transfer to Bucharest's Otopeni airport.
